Ghana’s boxer Richard Djarbeng will engage Chris ‘2 Slick’ Kongo in a round International welterweight bout in London [Wembley Arena] on Saturday, February 23, 2019.
The fight sanctioned by the British Boxing Board of Control [BBBoC] is the final eliminator for the Commonwealth Games title.
The Ghanaian had a turgid time, losing narrowly to Queensland Olympic boxer and schoolteacher – Jeff Horn in Palmerston North, New Zealand in June 2015.
Chris Kongo’s infatuation with the sport began after visiting a boxing gym with his two elder brothers – Elvis and Obed Mbwakong in South London.
He, however, failed to make the qualifying rounds of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil due to injuries.
The fight is being put together by Icon Sports Promotions.
