Accra Marriott Hotel is located opposite the city’s Kokota International airport, and features 208 rooms, three dining venues, 800sqm of meeting space, and a swimming pool and fitness centre.

The property joins existing hotels at Accra’s main airport by international hotel groups including IHG (the Holiday Inn Accra Airport) and Accorhotels (the Ibis Styles Accra Airport City Hotel).

Commenting on the opening Alex Kyriakidis, President and Managing Director, Middle East and Africa, Marriott International said:

“Accra is the heartbeat of Ghana, a dynamic city bustling with energy. A commercial, manufacturing, and communications centre with great shopping and excellent nightlife, it makes an interesting travel destination both for business and for leisure.

“The Accra Marriott Hotel will add to the city’s maturing hospitality scene, inspiring guests with more forward-thinking experiences and aesthetically inspiring spaces that speak to their inventive nature.”

The hotel joins Protea Hotel Takoradi Select (located around 230km south west of Accra) as the second Marriott property in Ghana.

Marriott acquired the Protea Hotels brand in 2014, adding over 80 properties to the group’s portfolio across Africa.
