Liberia: Young Climate Activists to Participate in Post COP27 Dialogue

 

Over 150 University students, environmental NGOs, and Young Climate Activists will this Friday, January 27 at 9: 00 AM, gather at Smart Liberia to participate in Post COP27– a Multi-stakeholders National & and Youth Consultative Dialogue.

Organized by the Liberian Youth for Climate Action (LYCA) and sponsored by the British Embassy in Monrovia, the dialogue will highlight the outcomes of COP27 with a key focus on Loss and Damage, Action For Climate Empowerment, Finance, Food & Agriculture, Technology Mechanism, Capacity Building, Adaption & Mitigation, and Gender.

It will also focus on Children and Youth Pavilion, COY17 & YOUNGO at COP27, Climate Education, and Negotiation Experiences from the youth – to chat about a path to overcome climate challenges and how to provide the finance, resources, and tools to effectively deliver climate actions at scale in Liberia.

The Post COP27 event will serve as an opportunity for youths who were unable to attend COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh, such as youth from diverse backgrounds and geographical locations to keep the momentum beyond COP27. It will inspire solution-driven discussions, build the capacities of youth and showcase their engagements at COP27 and share knowledge and experiences on the COP27 Negotiation Processes and Outcomes.

Held under the theme: COP27 Outcomes: Challenges, Prospects & Opportunities for Liberians, the event will also serve as an opportunity for youths who were unable to attend COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh.

Others to grace the occasion include: the British Ambassador to Monrovia, the Executive Director of, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Environmental Experts
