The “Eternal Unity” Youth Public Union organized the Azerbaijan, Turkey, Northern Cyprus “3 States, 1 Nation” Forum on the Google Meet platform.

The honorable guests of the meeting included Zorlu Töre, Speaker of the Assembly of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Javanşir Feyziyev, Head of the Azerbaijan-Northern Cyprus Interparliamentary Friendship Group and MP of the New Azerbaijan Party, and Orhan Erdem, Head of the Turkey-Northern Cyprus Interparliamentary Friendship Group and MP of the AK Party.

The meeting was moderated by Shahin Aliyev, Chairman of the “Eternal Unity” Youth Public Union, and Serdar Şengül, the representative of the “Eternal Unity” Youth Public Union in Northern Cyprus, where regional cooperation and developments among Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Northern Cyprus were discussed.

Speaker Zorlu Töre of the Northern Cyprus Parliament stated:**

The establishment of a friendship group between Azerbaijan and the Northern Cyprus Assembly is a significant development. Important diplomatic achievements have been made during mutual visits of our delegations. Today, you see that the Greek Cypriots are engaging in military-technical cooperation with Armenia, but these connections will not yield results. Look, Armenia faced its limits in Karabakh, and similarly, on the morning of July 20th in Cyprus. Therefore, we must become a deterrent against the collaborations of Greece, Armenia, and France in various fields. Our country must increase its naval and air bases, as Turkey’s military deterrence is critically important. Armenia and the Greek Cypriots are countries pampered by Europe. The Greek Cypriots’ collaboration with Israel is also a very dangerous step. Currently, a base for the USA and France is planned in the Tatlısu region of Northern Cyprus. The Greek side aims to create erosion on the island, but this does not resonate within their own communities. We continue to take secure steps under the framework of the Turkic States Organization and with Turkey’s guarantee. The gradual advancement of our relations with Azerbaijan is crucial for strengthening Northern Cyprus, with increasing mutual initiatives in trade and culture.

Orhan Erdem, head of the Turkey-Northern Cyprus Friendship Group:**

It is extremely important to meet you on such a platform. First of all, there is a great injustice on the island; if we go back in history, we governed the island for 378 years. The Greek population on the island was not this dense in earlier times; various developments over the years shaped Cyprus today. I want to emphasize that today only one country recognizes Northern Cyprus, and that is Turkey; however, 150 countries recognize Palestine, and we can see its situation. Therefore, no one can harm Northern Cyprus.

Our President Erdoğan has fought hard for the recognition of Northern Cyprus, and this effort continues. President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan has also made significant contributions to this process. In a period where human rights are largely violated, we will resolutely continue our rightful struggles. The current state of Northern Cyprus is very important; for example, the Russian Consulate is present on the island, thousands of British people live there, and it accepts students from around 130 countries. Although Northern Cyprus is not recognized internationally, its progress is significant. On November 15th, hopefully, the presidential complex and new parliamentary building will be opened to mark the anniversary of Northern Cyprus. These structures will symbolize the existence of two separate states in Cyprus, and we will move forward with certainty towards strong and beautiful days.

Cavanşir Feyziyev, Head of the Azerbaijan-Northern Cyprus Friendship Group:

The events experienced by the Turkish Cypriots throughout history are a clear example of injustice in the world order. Despite saying “Yes” to the “Annan Plan,” they have kept Northern Cyprus outside and admitted the Greek Cypriot Administration into the European Union, proving that we, as Turkic states, must resolve our problems ourselves. It is clear that international law has not always played its role.

In the last 100 years, there has only been one independent Turkish state: the Republic of Turkey. However, Turkey has stood by Northern Cyprus in its difficult times and has preserved its existence. When we talk about Northern Cyprus today, we owe it to the Republic of Turkey. Since 1991, with the collapse of the Soviet Union, new opportunities have emerged for us. Now there are six independent Turkic states on the world map. The last 30 years have been sufficient for these five Turkic states that separated from the Soviet Union to introduce themselves. At the same time, by the end of these 30 years, the Nagorno-Karabakh issue was also resolved. The only remaining issue to be addressed is the recognition of Northern Cyprus’s independence; this is a matter that must be resolved for the six independent Turkic states. Looking at the deep history of the Northern Cypriot people, any Greek claims here are baseless.

Six Turkic states mean six Turks, and these six Turkic states have six votes in the UN. However, some matters adopted by the UN and the Security Council do not always help. As is known, there were four decisions related to Karabakh in the UN, but the UN was unable to implement these decisions. Azerbaijan was able to resolve its issue independently.

Shahin Aliyev – Serdar Şengül

OUR UNITY WILL BE ETERNAL**

Şahin Əliyev, Chairman of the “Eternal Unity” Youth Public Union, provided extensive information on the project’s objectives and the significance of the tripartite partnership between Azerbaijan, Turkey, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Serdar Şengül, the representative of the “Eternal Unity” Youth Public Union in Northern Cyprus, addressed the importance of recognizing Northern Cyprus for the development of Turkic states and peoples, emphasizing that Turkic-speaking countries should work to strengthen their bonds of friendship, brotherhood, and alliance.

They stated that the goal of their organized project is to promote the contributions gained from the joint activities of Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Northern Cyprus, and to strengthen unity and equality.

In concluding his remarks, Shahin Aliyev stated:

“I am a Turk of Scythian lineage, of Sak dignity, of Hun grandeur, descended from the Oghuz, and I am Turkic. My nation is Turkic, my language is Turkic, my homeland is Turan, and my country is Azerbaijan. But I am not only Azerbaijani; I am a child of all Turkic states!”
