At the beginning of the meeting, a moment of silence was observed for the victims of the tragic crash of an aircraft belonging to Azerbaijan Airlines and for all martyrs of the Turkic World.
The Chairman of the “Eternal Union” Youth Public Union, Şahin Aliyev, expressed his gratitude to Mehmet Yarar, Chairman of the Sivas-Kosovo Friendship Platform and a Balkan expert, for accepting the invitation. Aliyev stated:
“Kosovo Turks and all Turks in the Balkans are inseparable parts of the Turkic World. We must get to know them closely and stand in solidarity with them.”
Mehmet Yarar, Chairman of the Sivas-Kosovo Friendship Platform and a Balkan expert, said:
“I also extend my condolences to all who lost their lives in the tragic plane crash. I take this opportunity to once again congratulate President Ilham Aliyev on his birthday through your platform. The Kosovo Turks are an integral part of the Turkic World. Their history dates back to the Ottoman Empire’s presence in the Balkans.
For centuries, the Kosovo Turks have preserved the Turkish culture, language, and traditions in this region. However, the political events of the 20th century deeply impacted their lives. Wars, migrations, and assimilation policies posed significant threats to their existence. Despite these challenges, the Kosovo Turks have fought valiantly to protect their identity. On this journey, the Kosovo Turks have always had the support of the martyred leader Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu and the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
