Faryond Ltd, as the Africa representative for leading OEM partners, extends its sincere appreciation for the continued support and collaboration throughout the Ghana LOX Project.
With the combined efforts of our international partners and local contractors, we are proud to mark the successful completion and commissioning of Liquid Oxygen (LOX) systems in ten hospitals across Ghana; including LEKMA Hospital and Tema General Hospital.
This important health infrastructure project was carried out under the Ghana Medical Oxygen Project; an initiative supported by USAID/RISE/Jhpiego in partnership with the Ghana Health Service (GHS). The project was led by Dr. Daniel Kotei, CEO of Faryond Ltd, who served as the project lead for the Ghana LOX project. “This project is proof that with the right partnerships, Ghana can deliver reliable oxygen systems that meet global standards. We are proud to have led a solution that strengthens hospital care and saves lives.” — Dr. Daniel Kotei, CEO, Faryond Ltd. PROJECT SCOPE AND HIGHLIGHTS Oxygen Plant Installations: Each selected hospital received a 10,000-litre or 5,000-litre capacity oxygen system, fully installed and operational to support critical care and emergency medical services. PROCUREMENT AND EQUIPMENT QUALITY Procurement Oversight: Dr. Daniel Kotei ensured that all equipment was procured according to strict specifications and European quality standards. OEM Visit and Inspection: As part of the procurement process, Dr. Kotei led a delegation from the Ghana Health Service and Jhpiego on an official factory inspection in Europe.
In the Netherlands, OEM partner Cryonorm BV hosted the team for a presentation on their global role in ambient vaporizer and change over unit manufacturing.
In Slovakia, Auguste Cryogenics provided a detailed walkthrough of their facility, showcasing the cryogenic tanks ordered for the project. Delegation Members Included: Dr. Ebo Hammond – Director of Health Administration & Support Services, GHS Dr. Nicodemus Kafui Kebe – Deputy Director, Clinical Engineering, GHS Dr. Paa Kobina Forson – Technical Director, Jhpiego Ghana All equipment passed thorough inspections and was approved for deployment. THIRD-PARTY INSPECTION: Carried out jointly by Dr. Kotei and certification body TÜV, this phase confirmed all systems met required safety and performance standards. Technical Design & Support: Faryond Ltd, with the support of Cryotek Services, provided comprehensive technical design and documentation including Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams and system specifications. Installation Team: The installations were completed by RikAir Ltd, with ongoing support and oversight from Faryond Ltd and its OEM partners. REMOTE MONITORING In collaboration with Ambra Sistemi, Faryond Ltd is providing remote monitoring services for all ten hospitals.
This system offers real-time alerts, oxygen consumption tracking, refilling schedules, and analytics to improve management and response times. It also provides the opportunity for future installations to be integrated on the same system, hence creating a standardized system for monitoring all national liquid oxygen plants.
This will enhance national effectiveness in maintenance, sustainability, and accountability for all the hospitals in Ghana. OEM TRAINING As part of its commitment to sustainability, Faryond Ltd will deliver structured training programs for biomedical engineers. This ensures smooth operations and long-term system reliability.
