Faryond Ltd Supports Expansion of Medical Oxygen Access in Ghana

Faryond Ltd, as the Africa representative for leading OEM partners, extends its sincere appreciation for the continued support and collaboration throughout the Liquid Oxygen Project funded by the United States Government (USG).

We are proud to have supported the successful completion and handover of Liquid Oxygen (LOX) infrastructure across ten hospitals in Ghana, including LEKMA Hospital and Tema General Hospital. This milestone was achieved under the U.S. Government-funded RISE project, implemented by Jhpiego in partnership with the Ghana Health Service (GHS). Dr. Daniel Kotei served as the main original equipment manufacturers’ representative who supported the procurement and installation of the LOX infrastructure.

“This project is proof that with the right partnerships, Ghana can deliver reliable oxygen systems that meet global standards. “I am proud to have supported a solution that strengthens hospital care and saves lives.” — Dr. Daniel Kotei, CEO, Faryond Ltd.

Each selected hospital received either a 10,000-litre or a 5,000-litre capacity oxygen infrastructure fully installed. Procurement and equipment quality; Faryond Ltd played a key role as a liaison between the OEMs and in-country engineering companies, supporting the deployment, installation, training, and maintenance of the LOX systems.

Dr. Daniel Kotei ensured that all equipment was procured according to strict specifications and European quality standards. OEM visit and inspection; as part of the procurement process, Dr. Daniel Kotei led a technical delegation that conducted factory inspections in Europe. In the Netherlands, OEM partner Cryonorm BV hosted the team for a presentation on their global role in ambient vaporizer and change-over unit manufacturing. In Slovakia, Auguste Cryogenics provided a detailed walkthrough of their facility, showcasing the cryogenic tanks ordered for the project. All equipment passed thorough inspections and was approved for deployment.

A third-party inspection, conducted jointly by Dr. Kotei and certification body TÜV, confirmed that all systems met the required safety and performance standards. Technical design and remote monitoring; In collaboration with Ambra Sistemi, Faryond Ltd is delivering remote monitoring services to all ten hospitals.

This system provides real-time alerts, oxygen consumption tracking, refilling schedules, and analytics to improve management and response times. It also lays the foundation for a standardized national system for monitoring LOX plants, enhancing maintenance, sustainability, and accountability across Ghana’s health facilities. OEM training; Faryond Ltd worked with Rikair Ltd to develop a structured training curriculum for biomedical engineers to ensure long-term system reliability and sustainability.

As part of our commitment to sustainability, Faryond Ltd, as the Africa representative of the OEMs, will facilitate the training of biomedical engineers with the OEM abroad. This will ensure smooth operations and long-term system reliability.
