Black Stars captain – Andre Ayew has said that Team Ghana is prepared as they open their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tournament campaign this afternoon against the Atlas Lions of Morocco.
Ghana goes into this competition as one of the dark horses but Andre Ayew believes despite having one of the young squad in the tournament, the Black Stars have got what it takes to progress and make Ghanaians proud.
“Some [of the players] may be young but the talent they have is top-notch, so we are just there to help,” the captain said during yesterday’s press conference.
“First of all, we are there to do our job. We have to create the example to the others on and off the pitch.
“We try to let them understand what an AFCON means to you individually and as a country. In all, they are aware and they are ready as a team.
“It is not going to be easy – not just for us, but also for the opponents. We are going to the end and we will see what will come out of it.”
Ghana is drawn in Group C against the likes of Morocco, Comoros, and Gabon.
