An event titled “The Guarantor of Eternal Unity: Great Leader Heydar Aliyev” was held under the organization of the Eternal Union Youth Public Union. The event was hosted by Turkish Cypriot journalist and presenter Serdar Shengul, who has also served for many years as the North Cyprus representative of the Eternal Union Youth Public Union.
The event was attended by prominent figures, including Deputy Chairman of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Musa Gasimli, Chairman of the Democracy and Human Rights Commission and Chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry of Justice Chingiz Ganizade, war veterans, veterans of the Patriotic War, and representatives from political, cultural, and scientific fields.
A minute of silence was observed to honor Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs of the Turkic world, followed by the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Turkiye.
In his speech, Deputy Chairman of the Milli Majlis Musa Gasimli emphasized Heydar Aliyev’s unique contribution to the formation of the Azerbaijani statehood ideology and the strengthening of relations within the Turkic world. He stressed that Heydar Aliyev is remembered not only as the national leader of Azerbaijan but also as a historic leader for the entire Turkic world.
Chingiz Ganizade, Chairman of the Democracy and Human Rights Commission and the Public Council under the Ministry of Justice, highlighted the importance of such events in educating the youth with national and moral values. He praised the efforts of the Eternal Union Youth Public Union and wished them continued success.
War veterans and renowned intellectuals who took the stage underscored the significance of Heydar Aliyev’s struggle for the independence and protection of Azerbaijan, stressing the importance of passing on his political legacy to future generations.
As part of the event, a documentary about the life and achievements of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was screened. Additionally, Azerbaijani dombra artist Adnan Emirli performed the piece *“ErTuran – Turkic Blood”* for the participants.
At the end of the event, Shahin Aliyev, Chairman of the Eternal Union Youth Public Union, spoke about the significance of the event and emphasized their ongoing efforts to preserve Heydar Aliyev’s legacy and strengthen Turkic unity. He also extended his gratitude to all attendees and supporters of the event.
In his speech, Turkish Cypriot journalist and presenter Serdar Shengul underlined the great importance of Heydar Aliyev not only for Azerbaijan but for the entire Turkic world. He stated:
“Today, President of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev is advancing with firm steps on the strategic path defined by the Great Leader. The developing relations with the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Mr. Ersin Tatar demonstrate that the legacy of Rauf Denktaş and Heydar Aliyev is being upheld with honor. The growing triangle of Ankara–Baku–Lefkosha is the guarantee of our shared future.”
