UN honours Ghana’s Sammy Heywood Okine for dynamic and excellent leadership

 The United Nations has awarded ace Ghanaian sports Journalist, Sammy Heywood Okine with the Honour of Distinction – Gold Star of the order, UN Humanitarian Achievement – for his services to humanity.

Honour of Distinction The citation on his award reads, “This is what the world has been waiting for since the summits and various global sitting have culminated and crafted the United Nations Resolution 2030 and sustainable leadership achievements of national constitutions of reputable practices of which your performance has transcended the global circles and to that end called to the honour of distinction the Gold Star Order of Companion of Honour – Sammy Heywood Okine of the Republic of Ghana.

“In the achievement of sustainable vision and exemplary leadership of the global leadership honour of the UN Resolution 2030, transformation of the globe in achievement of the global fabrics of a unified continent for globalization, integration and sustainability: Winning the global ball of Gold Star Order of Companion of Distinctive Leadership, of replica practices enshrined in 198 national constitutions of the world is the lifetime Achievement which challenge Presidential leaders to answer their people’s plight to underscore human dignity and peace building.

A sports journalist of high repute He is a sports manager / journalist of high repute, Communications Director of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) as well as media consultant for the Millennium Marathon and the Ghana Kickboxing Association. He also serves as Vice President of the Pro Fight Factory (PFF) made up of talented sportsmen and women around the world.

The Award The Gold Star Order of the Companion of Honour award was instituted by the late former UN Secretary General, Global Architect Laureate of Peace and Leadership, Busumuru Dr. Kofi Annan.

Others who were honoured in the field of sports are Ghana’s swimming champion Abeiku Jackson, former national team and Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Ali Jarra, former handball star Cynthia Akweley Lamptey and executive director of Women In Sports Association (WISA) Gloria Commodore.
