The Yale School of Management (SOM) will host a Leaders Forum event titled “Democracy and Development in Africa”featuring His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, president of the Republic of Ghana. The event will take place 6-7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27 at Edward P. Evans Hall, 165 Whitney Ave.
The event is sponsored by the SOM dean’s office as part of President Peter Salovey’s Yale Africa Initiative. Advance registration is required.
The conversation will be moderated by Dr. Elijah Paintsil, associate professor of pediatrics (infectious disease), of epidemiology (microbial diseases), and of pharmacology at the Yale School of Medicine. Following the conversation will be a moderated Q&A session.
The talk is part of SOM’s Leaders Forum, a program that brings the heads of organizations from across all sectors to discuss the challenges and opportunities of leadership. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with the talk starting promptly at 6 p.m.
For security reasons, there will be no admittance after 6 p.m. and large items such as umbrellas and backpacks will not be allowed. Personal bags are subject to search, and laptops must remain closed during the talk. All attendees will be asked to remain in their seats until the event concludes at 7 p.m.
