Springfield Energy has said it will pursue a legal case against Glencore in Ghana after losing its case in the UK, local media reported Sunday.
Springfield claims Glencore broke Ghanaian law by storing oil at a depot without a licence.
A UK court ruled in favour of Glencore in a contract dispute between the two companies last week. 
The judge found that Springfield had broken an agreement by failing to pay Glencore USD 1.2 million plus interest for breaching a contract to take oil from the global commodities trader. Springfield argued the oil had been stored illegally.
“We strongly believe this is a matter of Ghana law and consequently a matter for Ghana’s courts,” The Telegraph quoted a spokesperson as saying.
