Mintos, the leading marketplace for investing in loans, has just passed the milestone of EUR 4 billion invested in loans through the platform.
Launched in 2015, the company is witnessing a surge in investor numbers and funds invested in loans through the platform this year. The EUR 2 billion mark was reached this April, while the EUR 3 billion milestone was passed in August.

On average, a single Mintos investor with active investments in the marketplace has around EUR 4700 invested in loans. In total, the investors have earned more than EUR 70 million in interest on Mintos.
The majority of investors start investing small, as the minimum amount to invest is only EUR 10. However, the platform says that most investors invest more than EUR 1000 during their first week on the marketplace. Today, nearly 70% of investors have invested more than EUR 1000 in loans on Mintos.
In the past few years, the number of investors using Mintos has skyrocketed, too. The platform started 2018 with 43,457 investors and reached 100,000 in January 2019. There are now more than 215,000 investors on Mintos, and the number is growing daily. The investors come from 85 different countries, while the marketplace is available in seven different languages.
“With the help of technology we are opening up new ways for the wider public to earn passive income,” added Mr Sulte. “The fact that we have managed to attract almost a quarter of a million people to invest in loans in less than five years of operation is ensuring that tech-driven, innovative ways of investing are here to stay.”
Recently, the company was also acknowledged at the AltFi Awards by being named the Alternative Finance Platform of the Year 2019 and the People’s Choice 2019. Mintos claimed the People’s Choice award for the fourth year straight.
Mintos was also ranked among top 10 companies in the prestigious Rising Star category of the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Report for 2019 earlier this year.
