World Muay Thai Championship 2018: Ghana’s Gerald Dah defeated by Kim Dong Wan

 

Ghana’s Gerald Dah lost a great opportunity to add his name to the world’s great Muay Thai fighters when he was beaten by Kim Dong Wan of South Korea at the semi final of the  65kg World Muay Thai Championship in Hong Kong on August 28.

He told Yours Truly “I lost in the semi final fight by point, lack of stamina as the dropping weight of 5 kg in 2 weeks beat me. But I am still the greatest fighter of all time. Raising the image of Ghana” he said.

The bout took place at the Star Hall in Hong Kong for the WMC I-1 World Super-4 Championship.

Other fighters on the bill were Jonathan Tuhu of Papua New Guinea and Yushi Ogino of Japan.

Full results released by Thongchai Anita state that in the WKBC I-1 New Star Fight 57kg, Boyka Lo (Hong Kong) defeated Sunny Ip (Hong Kong) by unanimous decision.

WKBC I-1 New Star Fight 60kg, Saioiw Thanakorn (Thailand) defeated Lau Wing Hang (Hong Kong) by unanimous decision.

In the WKBC I-1 Super Fight Championship 51kg, Bee Cho (Hong Kong) beat Pok Cek (Malaysia) by split decision. For the WMC I-1 Asian Championship 51kg, Kwok Hoi-Ling (Hong Kong) defeated Ayshah Sampuri (Malaysia) by Round 2 TKO. WMC I-1 Asian Championship 48kg Dylan Yiu (Hong Kong) defeated Emmanuel Sabrine (Philippines) by unanimous decision.

WKBC I-1 Super Fight Championship 54kg Michael Dacuno (Philippines) defeated Li Runxing (Hong Kong) by split decision. WKBC I-1 Super Fight Championship 59kg Jimmy Li (Hong Kong) defeated Faiq Haikal (Malaysia) by Round 2 TKO. WMC I-1 World Title Super-4 Championship 65kg, Semi-Final #1 Jonathan Tuhu (Papua New Guinea) defeated Yushi Ogino (Japan) by Round 2 KO.

WMC I-1 World Title Super-4 Championship 65kg, Semi-Final #2 Kim Dong Wan (South Korea) defeated Gerald Dah (Ghana) by unanimous decision. WMC I-1 Pacific Championship 54kg, Brooke Farrell (Australia) defeated Alex Tsang (Hong Kong) by split decision.

WMC I-1 Asian Championship 58kg, Ernesto Montilla Jr. (Philippines) defeated Leung Pak-Yu (Hong Kong) by split decision. WMC I-1 World Title Super-4 Championship) 65kg, Grand Final Kim Dong Wan (South Korea) beat Jonathan Tuhu (Papua New Guinea) by unanimous decision. WMC I-1 Intercontinental Championship 70kg, Champ Fairtex (Thailand) defeated Cedric Desruisseaux (France) by unanimous decision. WMC I-1 Supreme Championship 75kg, Tum Mardsua (Thailand) defeated Eddie Farrell (Australia) by unanimous decision.
