AS Monaco has enlisted the services of the experienced 32-year-old Italian goal-keeper. Vito Mannone has committed himself until June 2022.
AS Monaco is pleased to announce the arrival of Vito Mannone, who has notably worked for Arsenal, who has signed a two-year contract with the Principality’s club. Spotted at just 17 years old by Arsène Wenger when he was playing in the second team at Atalanta Bergamo, Vito Mannone joined the Gunners in 2005 with whom he discovered the Premier League and the Champions League (8 matches).
Also playing for Hull City, Reading and Barnsley, Vito Mannone has made a name for himself in England where he was voted Sunderland’s best player in 2013-14 and one of the main architects of the Black Cats maintaining their Premier League status that same season.
After having played more than 200 matches in England, including 82 in the Premier League, the former Italian Under 21 team (7 caps) defended the colours of Esbjerg FB (Danish D1) but also and above all kept the goal of Minnesota United where he was named best goalkeeper of Major League Soccer in 2019.
